Mummy Rice Krispie Treats

Mummy Rice Krispie Treats

Figuring out what to bring to my son’s school has been a bit difficult due to allergies. It is amazing how many children have allergies nowadays. When I was growing up, I remember very few people being allergic to peanuts, but that was about it. In my son’s school there are gluten allergies, peanut allergies, egg allergies, and who knows what else. So, I wanted to plan something for him to share on Halloween with his friends, but we had to make sure we didn’t leave anyone out, or risk their health.

Who doesn’t love Rice Krispie Treats? The great thing, they are gluten-free! I also make my own homemade marshmallows that are only made with honey and gelatin. So the base of the treat is a great start. In order to make them festive for Halloween, I turned them into mummies with white candy coating chocolate and candy googly eyes. The chocolate does have milk in it, so if there is a child with a milk allergy, then this would have to me left out.
