Think I can find any other reason to use my homemade pumpkin pie spice?? The ideas just keep coming!  I had fall food on my mind and what could make it better than whipped cream…. spiced maple whipped cream!  This is great for all of your fall desserts and for the upcoming holidays especially pie season (aka Thanksgiving).  I really like adding this to my coffee too.  Instead of the pumpkin spice latte that everyone is crazy about this is a way to get those spices and a bit of natural sweetness.

The only sweetener in this is maple syrup BUT you have to use real maple syrup!  I looooove maple syrup.  It just reminds me of cozy fall breakfasts.  This is the best time of year to use these flavors.  A rustic sweetness from maple syrup paired with the rich comforting spices of pumpkin pie spice mixed in with homemade whipped cream is pretty much the best thing ever!  The secret to good whipped cream is cold cream, a cold bowl, and not over whipping.  You can use a hand-mixer or your stand mixer with the whisk attachment… or you can get an arm workout and use a hand whisk and whisk it yourself!

Spiced Maple Whipped Cream

1 cup cold whipping cream

2 tablespoons real maple syrup

2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice (homemade pumpkin pie spice)

Directions

*Place the cold cream into the cold bowl

*Slowly start whisking the cream until it starts to thicken

*Slowly add in the maple syrup and pumpkin pie spice

*Continue to whisk until you reach soft peaks

*Being careful not to over whip or you will have spiced maple butter!

*You want the texture to be thick but still able to smoothly fall off a spoon
