Crafting on Hallmark’s Home and Family
I had a great time crafting on The Hallmark Channel’s Home and Family! Make sure to watch Thursday July 23, 2015 at 10am AND the show will rerun on Friday July 24, 2015 at 12pm!
DIY Valentino Studded Items
Studs; silver or gold
shoes, bags, jewelry, wallet, iPhone case, etc
gold spray paint; optional
ruler
toothpicks
marker (preferably permanent)
Directions
*In a well ventilated area, place the studs on a covered surface and spray with the gold spray paint, spraying about 10 inches away, until evenly coated; optional
*Allow to dry completely
*Use a ruler and permanent marker to make a small dot as to where you want the studs to be OR freehand place the studs on the item where you want them to be ***Note: depending on the material (such as fabric), you may want to use chalk to make marks instead of a marker***
*Squeeze a small amount of the glue onto a paper plate
*Place a small dot of glue on the back of the stud using a toothpick and place it onto the item
or
*You could also place a small dot of glue onto the item where the dot is using the marker in the spaces that you would like the studs to go, and then place the stud on the glue.
*Hold the stud on the item until it dries and won’t slide around, this could take a minute or so depending on how much glue was used, or how heavy the stud is
*Allow the glue to dry before moving on to a different part of the shoe
*Keep checking to make sure the studs don’t slide
*They should be completely dry within 10-15 minutes
*Allow item to sit for at least 4 hours or so before wearing/using
